Okaloosa Outpatient Center offers structured outpatient programs specifically designed to meet the needs of individuals experiencing mental health and/or chemical dependency problems. Our Intensive Outpatient Programs (IOP), Half Day Partial Hospitalization Programs (Half Day PHP), and Partial Hospitalization Programs (PHP) are an ideal option for civilians, Active Duty service members, and Veterans who do not need the structure or security of an inpatient setting, but require a level of care beyond that of traditional outpatient services. We offer a flexible schedule of treatment allowing patients to live at home and maintain a work schedule whenever possible.

Our Approach

At Okaloosa Outpatient Center, our IOP, Half Day PHP, and PHP programs provide comprehensive treatment to address each individual’s primary symptoms and problems. Programming is adjusted to facilitate client growth through medication management, individual and family sessions, and group therapy, while emphasizing the development of coping mechanisms to create the best opportunity for relapse prevention. Each client will have an individualized treatment plan to meet their needs and address their goals to prepare them for a successful step-down to less restrictive care, including integration back to family life, work, and the community.

Okaloosa Outpatient Center provides a less intensive, less expensive alternative to hospitalization for those struggling with mental health or chemical dependency problems. Our IOP/Half Day PHP groups meet three to five days a week for three hours each session. PHP groups meet five days a week for six hours each session. Length of treatment at Okaloosa Outpatient Center will depend on each client’s specific needs and treatment plan.

Program Details

Okaloosa Outpatient Center offers different programming options to address the specific needs of our clients. Separate mental health IOP groups for civilians and Half Day PHP groups for Active Duty/Veterans run in the morning, while chemical dependency IOP/Half Day PHP groups run in the afternoon. For individuals needing treatment for mental health and chemical dependency problems, our PHP allows the opportunity to receive dual-diagnosis treatment for both. Patients in our full day dual-diagnosis PHP attend mental health groups in the morning, are served a meal for lunch, and then attend chemical dependency groups in the afternoon.

Evidence based treatment includes Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Cognitive Processing Therapy (CPT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) strategies, Prolonged Exposure (PE), and Seeking Safety. Our clinical team also utilizes telepsychiatry services at Okaloosa Outpatient Center to help facilitate the needs of our clients.
